Former-McLean County Corrections Officer Samantha Beck pleads guilty to Official Misconduct after performing fellatio on an inmate.
On June 15th, 2024, Corrections Officer Samantha Beck was working the 3-11 PM shift at the McLean County Detention facility. She had direct supervision over a pod with 54 male inmates. According to incident reports obtained via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, Beck only had ten minutes left on her shift. You’d think an eight hour shift in a jail would already be a mouthful, but this was not the case for Beck.
Surveillance cameras show the cell door of the soon-to-be-fellated inmate was closed but not secured (all inmates names were redacted). Beck walked up to the cell, opened the door without using a key, and began to speak with the inmate. Words quickly turned into passionate kissing and things appeared to only go down from there. The entire interaction was less than four minutes long.
Several inmates had reported to other jail officers about their suspicions regarding Beck’s salacious behavior. Sheriff Matt Lane placed Beck on administrative leave on June 24th. Supervisor Jason Tuttle immediately conducted an interrogation with Beck where she admitted to the sticky situation. This was more than the Sheriff could swallow. He spit her out of a job the same day. She was charged with two felonies: Official Misconduct and Custodial Sexual Misconduct.
On September 30th, 2024, Beck plead guilty to Official Misconduct; the other charge was dropped. She was sentenced to 30 months of probation, charged over $800 in fines, and has a permanent & pungent stain on her record.
