Estrella Diaz is a 23-year old, first generation American, running for Peoria City Council representing District Two.
This is Diaz’s first campaign for elected political office. In this interview with Agitation Rising, Diaz talks about her plans to address rising homelessness, affordable housing, protecting tenants, and economic opportunities for Peoria.
District 2 of the City of Peoria includes the following neighborhoods: Altamont Park, Arbor, Armstrong Ellis, Center Bluff, Bradley University, Columbia Terrace North, Cottage District, Hamilton Park, the Heart of Peoria, High Wine, North Florence, Orchard District, Sherwood Forest, Sterling Oaks, Twin Towers Place, West Bluff, West Central, and Westwood. It has roughly 22,810 residents based on the 2020 Census.
The election will be April 1st, 2025.
